LIFESTYLE :: 10 GAME-CHANGING KITCHEN ITEMS

With the new year comes new found game-changing household items.
Here’s a list of my top picks, let me know if you agree x

This countertop smart oven by Breville is used daily in my household and I’m yet to touch my large oven. I also find no need for a toaster or air-fryer as this does it all and is perfect for prepping two servings per meal. Great for couples but also for singles who cook less!

I am saving up for one of these Robot Vacuums. I have seen them in action and am in awe of their tech and time saving capabilities. I vaccum most days and have a puppy and so her breed is prone to lots of fur shedding. I’m definitely keen to time save time with this auto cleaner. Some can mop (spot clean) as well as vacuum and most do tiles, timber and carpet flooring.

It’s basically a bamboo chopping board but with its own containers housed within itself. There’s also a cut out ontop where you can slide your chopped ingredients into which fall into the end container. Genius!

My Dad actually got me on to this. I cook meals daily so it’s essential to have sharp knives in my kitchen and find that, this is, the easiest and quickest way to do so. Plug it in to the power, turn it on then sharpen your knives, scissors and machete in a few passes. Love it.

This one has been around for decades in my family but I recently ordered a new one for my mum and hey presto, one for myself and Dad too. No more struggle-town with opening cans in your kitchen. There’s always that one can that just puts you to work! This just makes kitchen life less stressful in a pinch.

I’ll say it one more time for the newbs here.. I love my coffee!
You’re going to want to get this particular brand by Bodum. The quality of these particular mugs are second to none -trust me on this one. No need for coasters. Pour hot or cold.
Pop them in the dishwasher after use if not hand washing.

Tip - don’t just toss them in the sink stacked with loads of dishes and what-not. They’re glass so still handle with a level of care to ensure no damage to them.

7. JOSEPH & JOSEPH WASTE + RECYCLING BIN

Realistically I’d prefer two of these bins in my house, but for now, one will make do. The top half is for rubbish the bottom for recycling. It’s such an elegant, functional bin.. just a little pricey. Do check it out!

I love this small, inexpensive gadget. It’s great when making bulletproof coffee, matcha lattes or a cup of miso soup. It’s one item I didn’t know I needed, until I stumbled across it and gave it a go.

Again.. coffee is life. My daily go-to instead of barista made coffee. I’ve saved a tonne on coffee purchases and can have a quality cup whenever I like, at home. It’s been especially great to have since being home more due to the pandemic. If you like black coffee do try this particular model as the way the coffee is extracted is unique - incredible coffee in taste and texture!

Spending time standing and preparing meals on our hard kitchen tiles and not having to worry about our puppy thinking it’s a pee pad makes this particular mat a dream for me. It’s also so easy to clean, wet and dry.
